Valentine's Day tradition in the countries of Asia

  • In Japan, Valentine's Day has emerged thanks to a massive marketing, as the day on which the women gave the men they love chocolate. But this is not done voluntarily but become a liability, especially for those who work in offices. They give chocolates to their male co-workers, sometimes at great expense. Chocolate is known as giri-choko, from the words giri (obligation) and choco (chocolate). And thanks to further marketing efforts, a day counter, called "White Day" (White Day) appeared. On this day (March 14), men who have got chocolate on Valentine's Day is expected to give something back.

  • In Taiwan, in addition to Valentine's Day and White Day, there was one other festivals similar to the second day of this feast of the judging function. His name is "Girl Day" (Qi Xi). This day was held on the 7th day, month-7 according to the Chinese chronicle kamariyah calendar.
